Here at Lea Advanced Skincare we are well known for our acne treatments! We have several different modalities that we find most efficient. They can be used separately or all in the same treatment for the ultimate acne treatment. In this article we are going to break them down for you and explain why they leave the skin fresh and how they treat acne while preventing scarring.

Our first favorite is the Ultra Sonic! Whether you have acne or not we recommend an ultra sonic cleansing for almost everyone. The ultra sonic uses sound waves to penetrate the skin, causing intense vibrations to wriggle out any dirt or debris left in the pores. It is the ultimate aid to extractions, it surfaces blemishes under the skin (future breakouts) so they can be removed and helps flatten out large pores. For those concerned with aging or sagging skin it can also be used to diminish wrinkles, increase cell metabolism and aid in the process of product penetration. During our acne treatment we extract as much as we can manually before using the ultra sonic to extract what we were unable to get. To be extra thorough we then go back and analyze the skin one more time and complete a second manual extraction. This method helps prevent breakouts from happening post facial, which many people are often concerned about.

The next modality we like to use in our acne treatment is our Microdermabrasion machine which uses fine crystals to exfoliate and regenerate the skin. We have spoken in depth about microdermabrasion in past blogs so if you are a consistent reader you know how many different benefits it has! When used in an acne treatment our main goal is to flatten down any bumpy areas and to force the skin to produce new, fresh cells. If you have severe acne and are extremely oily we recommend doing both the ultra sonic and the microdermabrasion. Together the two modalities extract dirt and debris, flatten out pores, slough off dead skin cells, increase cellular rejuvenation and improve the texture and appearance of skin!

Lastly, LED light therapy is one of the strongest, non-invasive and painless ways to get rid of acne and acne scaring. Our LED machine has all 7 lights of the light spectrum; yellow, green, white, blue, indigo, violet and red. Each of which has its own skin concern fighting super power! Yellow is an anti-inflammatory and reduces redness, but mainly improves the elasticity of the skin. Green is calming and restorative; its main property is evening out skin tone and reducing pigmentation changes in the skin. White is mainly used to regenerate, calm and rebalance the skin. Blue is the ultimate acne fighting color. It produces an extra molecule of O2 making it impossible for p-acne bacteria to grow, which lays way deep in the tissue. It also has anti-inflammatory properties. Indigo helps calm down red and enflamed skin. Violet also helps control bacteria and clear acne (both violet and indigo are combinations of at least two colors, so they are always best used with more than one color). Last, but not least, Red light stimulates collagen and increases your cell turnover rate. It promotes the replacement of old and damaged skin and minimizes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Combining these three modalities is the ultimate acne treatment and we truly recommend doing all three in this order every two to three weeks until the acne is under control! Even if you are on a budget using just one of these modalities, or a combination of two, it will still be effective. But all three together would be the quickest and most efficient acne treatment you could find! The ultra sonic removes all impurities from the skin, the microdermabrasion flattens out bumps and promotes cellular rejuvenation and the lights increase collagen production, prevents scarring, aids in the healing process and kills bacteria. Throw a little high frequency in there (learn about high frequency in our past blog post) and your acne has no chance of survival!
