Looking for an easy way to keep your skin fresh between facials? Look no farther than your kitchen cupboard for natural and healthy ingredients for a whole skincare regiment!

Over the next few weeks we’ll post everything from Cleansers to Masks and Moisturizers to get your skin in great shape!

The first and one of the most important steps in a skincare regiment is cleansing. It’s important morning and night because skin picks up all kinds of debris not only from outside but from our pillows as we sleep. Cleaner skin is also better able to absorb serums and moisturizers.

Proper cleansing is especially important nowadays since a lot of make ups, sunscreens and moisturizers are water-resistant or have a lot of oil that’s hard to wash off with just a quick wash. If you use a water-soluble cleanser it’s even worse because the cleansing will be more superficial. Oil-based cleansers are best. Since like attracts like, they’ll pull the oils from your skin after which you can rinse it all away with water.

A bowl of clay and a brush on top of the table. Here are two cleansers that you can make right at home (All ingredients can be found at Wholefoods):
